Howarth Timber and Building Supplies has announced that its partnership with the Caudwell Children charity has been extended for a further year.

Howarth Timber extends charity partnership

The merchant started its partnership with the charity three years ago and has helped raise more than £45,000 to assist with providing family support services, equipment, treatment and therapies for disabled children and their families across the UK.

Staff from Howarth Timber’s 28 branches have undertaken numerous charity events, while company-wide initiatives have also helped to raise significant funds. The company plans to raise even more funds for the charity this year as it celebrates its 175th anniversary with a host of events across 2015.

Nicholas Howarth, managing director of Howarth Timber, said: “Howarth Timber continues to take its corporate social responsibility very seriously and we have been extremely pleased with what we have achieved with Caudwell Children over the last three years. After seeing how much of a difference the money that we raised made to the children’s and their families’ lives, it felt only right to continue to support Caudwell Children for a further year.”

Trudi Beswick, chief executive of Caudwell Children, added: “We are thrilled to be working with Howarth Timber for another 12 months. They have already done so much to help disabled children and families around the country and we can’t thank the staff, suppliers and customers enough for their continued support.”
