Howarth buys Maltings Timber Merchants

The acquisition of the 30yr old company brings Howarth its 30th branch. It will be led by Chris Noble, who joins Howarth Timber and Building Supplies having amassed more than 17 years’ experience in the industry.

Howarth Timber and Building Supplies managing director, Nicholas Howarth, said: “Maltings Timber Merchants is a successful business with standards and values that match up with those of Howarth Timber.

“The acquisition will allow us to expand the product ranges available to customers, with building supplies added to the already excellent timber offering at the store.

“With the Thorne branch of Howarth Timber located eight miles away on the outskirts of Doncaster, and led by the newly promoted regional manager John Brandon, this new branch enhances our presence in the town and ensures the region’s tradespeople are covered.

“Customers can enjoy the same expert advice, quality of products and great service from the superb team employed with Maltings Timber who are now part of the Howarth team.

“The introduction of building materials to the product offering at the branch will also ensure the outlet offers more choice in new areas.”
