Independent builders merchant Rudridge made a welcome return to the Horsham Community Allotments, months after donating materials for the team as part of its Community Project campaign.
Launched in April this year, Rudridge’s community campaign aims to give something back to local causes and businesses in the Horsham area.
The Horsham Community Allotments were selected to benefit from the merchant’s expertise, materials and labour and on Friday 5th December the team invited Rudridge back to their site to see what they had achieved and enjoy champagne and cake.
To make sure the allotment could be accessed by everyone in the community, paths suitable for wheelchairs were required as well as raised beds and various other materials. Rudridge were able to help provide sand and materials to make the site fully accessible for all.
John Chesson, branch manager for Rudridge Horsham, said: “We were really pleased to be able to help the Horsham Community Allotments with their project. Their hard work and tireless effort to improve their site’s access really has paid off and now it looks fantastic.
“Not only have we helped Helen Whittington, Horsham Community Allotment Project Manager, and her team with our donations from the community fund, but we have built an established relationship. We look forward to helping the allotments in the future with other projects.”
