H+H achieves efficiency standard

Aircrete block manufacturer H+H UK has been awarded BSEN 16001 – the latest European standard to focus specifically on energy efficiency.
The company also achieved the British Standards Institute Energy Reduction Validation (ERV) Kitemark scheme for demonstrating reductions in carbon emissions.

To meet the requirements of the standard, H+H had to demonstrate a reduction in energy use year-on-year, showing a robust method of calculation to back up the figures and a real commitment to continuing improvements. The requirement for ERV compliance is to demonstrate a minimum 2.5% carbon reduction, but H+H actually achieved a 7.5% reduction for 2009/2010 compare to the preceding two years.

It has been a core policy for H+H over recent years to improve its energy efficiency and position itself securely in line with sustainable building practices.
