A team of adventurous employees from surface water management experts, ACO, are participating in the Bear Grylls Survival Challenge in London, on 30th September 2017.
Putting their survival skills to the ultimate test, ACO is entering a team of nine individuals in a bid to raise money for CRASH – the construction industry’s charity that focuses on improving buildings for homeless and hospice charities. ACO is a patron of CRASH and has a long-standing partnership with the charity.
The ACO Warriors will embark on a 10km series of obstacle races combined with survival challenges, in a bid to raise awareness and money for CRASH. The team of nine come from a wide-variety of departments and job roles including design service advisors, a production manager and business systems analyst, with ages ranging from early 20’s up to people in their 50’s.
The inspiration behind the survival race came from Bear’s deep-rooted experience that overcoming adversity in the wild can build physical and mental strength in a totally unique way.
Gemma Burley, Marketing Assistant at ACO Water Management, said: “We have long supported CRASH and strongly believe in the unique way in which it works to help homeless and hospice charities with construction related projects. What better way to show our support than by taking part in the ultimate survival challenge.
“Here at ACO we manufacture surface water management systems that are built to last, based on strong and resilient materials. Similarly, such qualities will make good foundations for the team and their strength, determination and resilience will be crucial during the challenge. The ACO Warriors are training hard together and have so far experienced a great deal of support from fellow colleagues. They’re looking forward to participating in the Bear Grylls Survival Challenge, while raising money for a well-deserved cause.”
The team will consist of Will Allen, Leanne Angell, Jason Fisher, Giorgio Giuliano, Aaron Kersey, Jack Lorimer, Linda O Sullivan, Anneka Nuttall and Julian Priest.
