Dow Corning 791 Weatherproofing Silicone Sealant has been used to weatherproof a 1960s office building in Great Yarmouth where the work had to be carried out by abseiling sealant applicators.
The council office building is on the waterfront of the town so scaffolding was impossible. The work required the existing weatherseal joints to be cut out and new sealant applied.
Dow Corning 791 from Geocel is suitable for expansion, connection, perimeter and all other types of movement joints and is compatible with all Dow Corning structural sealants. It is UV stable and has high movement capability so it’s versatile enough to be used on a wide variety of substrates. Dow Corning 791 comes in a wide range of colours as standard with custom colours available on request.
The new sealant conforms to ISO 600 F&G-25LM, BS 5889, DIN 18545 Class E, SNJF Vitrage et Façade Category 1 and meets ISO specification (class 50% when tested to ISO 9047).
