Plumbing fittings supplier Geberit helped a TV charity appeal by supplying pipe fittings and tools to help renovate a rundown youth centre in a deprived area of Liverpool.

The one-hour DIY SOS TV special was recorded for the BBC’s Children In Need charity.
Geberit provided a range of Geberit Mapress Copper pipework fittings, as well as specialist Geberit Mapress pressing tools and a collar set for the heating and water pipe work. It also sent a skilled company representative to train volunteer British Gas plumbers, new to pressing, to fit the pipes correctly.
The project required the removal of the old heating system and all the pipe work, and the installation of a completely new central heating system with 28 radiators and over 400m of pipe.
For this project the DIY SOS team were relying purely on the goodwill of local tradesmen and businesses to make the project happen, a job which would normally take 8 months to complete and with an estimated budget of £1m.
