Phil Broadbent is the new Branch Manager at family-owned GB Plastics’ Shrewsbury branch, whilst Deepak Kalia is the new Manager of its Walsall branch.

GB Plastics has its head office in Rugeley, Staffordshire and its trade counter network has six key sites across the Midlands.

As Branch Manager of the Shrewsbury branch on the town’s Battlefield Enterprise Park, Phil (aged 33) is responsible for a team of six. With extensive general business management and sales experience, Phil has previously been a Contract Manager for a specialist waste management company, and Area Sales Manager for adhesives and silicon manufacturer and supplier to the building, construction and interiors industries, Hranipex.

Deepak (aged 32) brings wide-ranging sales and customer service experience to GB Plastics’ Walsall branch and its five-strong team. Prior to joining, he has been Branch Manager for local branches of Euro Car Parks, Floors2Go and Halfords.

“GB Plastics is a great independent builders merchant with an amazing reputation,” says Deepak. “No two days are the same, and I am really enjoying meeting customers at the branch, being part of the building, construction and DIY market, and working in a great atmosphere and team.”

Phil agrees: “There is so much that is right about GB Plastics and the Shrewsbury branch. It’s a great environment in which to work, a great location and team, and it is always busy. I’m enjoying the variety of work across both sales and management roles.”

GB Plastics’ General Manager Matt Wedderkopp, added: “Both Phil and Deepak bring a wide range of experience to our thriving, busy Shrewsbury and Walsall branches, with their great enthusiasm and fantastic commitment to improving their depot, whilst keeping true to the company’s core brand, family values and first-class customer service.”

GB Plastics is a £4 million turnover, second-generation family business founded in 1990 by Janet Sutherland. It has trade counters and offices in Banbury, Kettering Oswestry, Shrewsbury, Walsall, and its head office in its home town of Rugeley, Staffordshire.
