Frank Key acquires Sinbad Tools

Independent builders merchant Frank Key has acquired the Nottinghamshire tool hire company, Sinbad Tools Limited.

Frank Key, founded in 1907, has sites across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

Sinbad Tools has two depots, in West Bridgford and Stapleford. Formed in 1974, it specialises in small plant and tool hire for the industry and the DIY enthusiast.

The acquisition of Sinbad Tools will complement and enhance the existing tool hire service Frank Key provides to customers.

Frank Key managing director James Norton said: “Hire has been an area of great success to us over the last few years and this acquisition strengthens our position as the premier independent hire company in Nottinghamshire.”

Robert Sansom, chairman of Frank Key added: “I joined the company in 1972 and very quickly realised that plant and tool hire should be an integral part of a successful Frank Key, purchasing our first mixer for hire in October 1972. Today, we have a long established and reputable name in hire and adding Sinbad Tools to the group only enhances this, with its similar excellent reputation.”
