Arthur McArdle, National Vice President of the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) will present a builder’s view of Brexit at the Builders Merchants Federation’s (BMF) Members’ Day in September.
Together with his sons, Arthur owns and runs Woodfield Building Services (Staffs) Ltd, carrying out domestic and commercial refurbishments for local authorities, housing associations and the general public. He originally trained as a carpenter and joiner, before setting up his business in the mid 1980s. He has been an active member of the FMB since that time.
BMF MD John Newcomb said: “EU tradespeople have come to play a crucial role in plugging the construction industry’s chronic skills’ shortage. In the lead up to Brexit, the FMB has expressed its concern over the Immigration Bill and I’m sure Arthur will touch on this and other key issues for SME building firms.”
Members’ Day 2017 will be held at Jurys Inn Hinckley Island Hotel in Leicestershire. The Business Conference and the BMF’s black-tie Awards Dinner both take place on 20th September. The BMF’s annual Golf Tournament will be held on the previous day, 19th September, along with our other social activities, Quad Biking and Rifle Shooting
The BMF thanks our Members’ Day headline sponsor, Encon Insulation, and Marsh Industries, Monument Tools and First Event who sponsor the Awards Dinner and Golf Tournament and Social Activities.
