FMB appoints new national president

Bentley, from Sheffield, was elected at the FMB’s latest Annual General Meeting in Yorkshire and is a well-known figure in the construction sector.

The new national president of the FMB, said: “It is an honour to be given the chance to help lead the FMB and I’m looking forward to meeting and representing FMB members across the UK.

“My theme during my two year presidency is to increase the value of membership for every firm and a key part of this will be enhancing our consumer marketing to help our members win more work. I am also very keen to explore how we strengthen our offering to consumers through insurance-backed warranties.”

Brian Berry, Chief Executive of the FMB, said: “Dave Bentley is an extremely passionate advocate for the SME construction industry and I look forward to working with him over the coming years.

“During the course of 2014 the FMB has undergone radical internal streamlining to improve the overall efficiency of the organisation and we’re now well placed to take advantage of the upturn in the SME construction sector.”

Gary Lewis was elected as the FMB’s new National Vice-President and Jim Gilmour, the former FMB National President, is now the Immediate Past President.
