Cyril Brown, the man who oversaw the creation of today’s Builders Merchants Federation from the old National Federation of Builders and Plumbers Merchants, died in Germany last month at the age of 87.
Mr Brown, whose presidential period of 1977-79 spanned the name change, and who was therefore the BMF’s first president, was a former managing director of Heatek, the plumbers merchants.
His memorial service will be held in Christchurch Cheltenham on Friday 13th June at noon.
