FAKRO’s topSafe® window system proved itself the other day when it managed to stall attempts by burglars to break into a property.
Three FTP-V conservation-style windows had been installed in a clay plain tiled roof which was targeted because views were obscured from the ground.
The burglars in this case tried to open the roof windows with a crow-bar and, while they caused extensive damage, they were unable to get in.
The windows were also able to be repaired as FAKRO’s windows are all designed to be broken down for ultimate recycling.
The patented, topSafe® system uses a combination of additional steel reinforcement built into the lower part of the sash, improved lock security and longer screws driven in at an angle to prevent hinges being ruptured. The sash will also withstand even the weight of an individual jumping on it.”
