F1 power added to BMF Members Day

The Builders Merchants Federation has confirmed that Paul McNamara, technical director at Williams Advanced Engineering will speak at their Members Day event, this September.
McNamara has helped the BMF to underscore the motor racing motif behind the event’s theme, Together Towards Tomorrow.

Williams Advanced Engineering adapts technology originally developed for Formula One for use in commercial applications. McNamara is responsible for overseeing the technical management and delivery of the company’s growing range of products in the automotive, motorsport, energy, defence and civil engineering sectors.

Joining McNamara will be Dr Mark Jenkins, Professor of Business Strategy at Cranfield School of Management. Jenkins uses research into Formula One Motorsport to explore how strategy, teamwork and innovation combine to deliver high performance.

The event’s headline sponsor, ACO, has developed a competition around Race Team Management, to support their BMF Members Day sponsorship at branch level.

Managing director of the BMF, John Newcomb said: “Our Members Day business programme will focus on the role of teamwork in any successful organization. Paul and Mark will be sharing their experience from F1, where the power of the team is clearly reflected in performance on the track.”

The event takes place on 20 – 21 September at Jurys Inn Hinckley Island Hotel in Leicestershire. The two days will include the business conference, a black-tie awards dinner and informal networking opportunities including the BMF Golf Tournament.
