Exclusive: Timber show pulled!

East Exhibitions, organisers of The Timber Show due to take place on March 11-13 at London’s ExCeL, have announced that the show will no longer take place.

Exclusive: Timber show pulled!

The extraordinary move comes, say the organisers, as a result of unsuccessful attempts to secure additional funding for the show. And East Exhibitions itself will now have to go into liquidation.

In a notice issued this morning on behalf of East Exhibitions, director Martin Pearce said, “Our decision to cancel the event has been taken with the greatest reluctance, and we are greatly distressed that this action will affect most those companies that have shown us their support.

“I fully appreciate that any apologies offered are of little consolation to you but please be assured that we have done everything possible to try to avoid this outcome.”

The company has urged exhibitors and visitors to “take any action you can to reduce any further commitments by, for example, cancelling any hotel bookings, cancelling any planned advertising and ceasing any work on your exhibition stand.”
