Exclusive: Lafarge Cement score hatrick plus one at NBG awards

The awards ceremony, held at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester, saw Lafarge walk away with the winner’s trophy in the Heavyside, Marketing Initiative, Enviromental and Supplier of the Year categories.

The awards were judged by the partners in NBG LLP.

Andy Murphy, Lafarge Cement’s sales and marketing director, told buildersmerchantsjournal.net that the award was a measure of how much time, effort and money has been spent by the company in making its offer to builders merchants as good as possible.

“We’re really pleased that all our efforts have been noticed and appreciated by our customers,” he said. “It’s especially pleasing to have been rewarded in the environmental category because as a company we are striving to reduce our impact on the environment. Cement isn’t the most naturally environmentally-friendly product you could think of, so it’s a measure of how hard we have been working and how much we have invested in our processes that we have received this award.”

Other winners at the event were:

  • Lightside: runner-up Hunter Plastics, Winner ToolBank

  • Heavyside: runner up: Hanson Building Products,

  • Timber: runner-up Southern Timber, Winner: Donaldson Timber

  • Marketing Initiative: Superglass Insulation,

  • Environmental: runner-up: Klargester,

  • Supplier of the year: runner-up: Hunter Plastics.
