A team of 11 from Elliotts Builders Merchant, the south’s leading independent supplier of building products for the trade and public, is getting ready to tackle a 640-mile cycle ride across France to raise money for Naomi’s House and Jacksplace.
Starting on 2nd October, Team Elliotts will cycle the gruelling ride from Ouistrehm to Mont Ventoux over 4 days.
The team are hoping to raise £10,000 for charity, with half of the money raised going to Elliotts staff-nominated Charity of the Year, Naomi’s House and Jacksplace. The other half of this will go to charities nominated by event organisers, Challenge Adventure Charities (Cancer Research UK and The British Heart Foundation).
“The team has done some tough training rides across Hampshire over the last few months in preparation for the challenge”, said first time rider and Southampton Assistant Branch Manager, Dan Coombes.
“But the thought of raising money for a local cause has kept us motivated and now we’re all looking forward to getting over to France!”
Tom Elliott, Managing Director of Elliotts, said “At 640 miles, this ride will be one of the most physically demanding that we’ve undertaken, but we have a fantastic team who are up for the challenge. Raising money for Naomi’s House & Jacksplace will make reaching Mont Ventoux all the more rewarding.”
The 640-mile challenge, named the Mont Ventoux Challenge, has been organised by Challenge Adventure Charities founded by Elliotts’ own chairman, Stuart Mason Elliott. The organisation has raised over £4million since the late 90’s for worthwhile causes.
Elliotts has set up a JustGiving page and are aiming to raise £10,000, with any donations being greatly received. To donate and find out more about the Elliotts team, visit https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/elliotts2019.
