Elliotts in sustainable Olympic opening

Independent builders merchant Elliotts has opened a Sustainable Building Centre at its head office branch in Southampton.

The centre, which covers a range of products from solar PV roof tiles and sustainable drainage to renewable and water-saving taps, was opened on May 1.

Performing the opening ceremony was Dani King, the women’s cycling world championship gold and bronze medal-holder and a top hope for a Team GB medal in this Summer’s London 2012 Olympics.

King has been sponsored by Elliotts since she was a teenager and took up cycling as a way of getting out of double maths.

Sales director Paul Cleary says that the idea is to make the most of the growing green sector, by offering the latest renewable and sustainable products that link in with what Elliotts is already good at selling – traditional building materials.
