A renewed focus on a previously neglected category has seen sales rise at independent builders merchant EH Smith.
The company re-launched and expanded its soft landscaping product offer, including topsoil, bark mulch and play chip in big bags on the back of an expansion of the landscaping range.
“The first step was to take the category seriously and regard the project as a business development opportunity” said Darren Moles depot sales director at EH Smith.
“I am delighted with sales since we re-launched these products with our new supplier in March”.
He added: “We developed a strategy with our supplier Hallstone which has proven successful and we look forward to taking sales to even higher levels over the coming 12 months”.
Hallstone is a sister company to Rolawn, Europe’s largest producer of cultivated turf.
