Feedback showed an increasing number of people losing their padlocks after removing them to access their vans. To tackle this, Carl Kammerling has introduced a retaining clip to its Kasp 500 Series Van Lock, which keeps the padlock attached to the hasp at all times.

The new lock is designed to make it virtually resistant against break-in’s. It features a shackle-less, high security anti-pick, six-pin locking mechanism, enclosed within the walls of the hasp, decreasing possible points for attack.

Vans accounted for 10% of all vehicles registered in 2013, representing a 3.5million sales opportunity for security retailers. Furthermore, data from ECIC, insurance specialist for contractors across the electrical and mechanical building services sectors, showed that 17% of all losses were of stolen items from vans, claims increasing from £2,865 to £5,091 per claim in recent years.

Paul Fallon, Marketing Manager commented: “We are constantly looking to develop our products to ensure that we continue to provide security solutions appropriate to the changing needs of the market. The introduction of the new and improved Van Lock is yet another example of Kasp’s continued efforts to ensure we provide the best possible products for both our trade customers and consumers.”

Additionally, to celebrate the launch of the upgraded Kasp 500 Series Van Lock, Carl Kammerling is offering a generous 57% discount off a fully stocked counter box, in which there are three Van Lock sets and three separate K50073LD padlocks. This provides retailers with over £139 of margin.

Confident of the safety of their new product, Kasp offers a comprehensive 10-year guarantee against defects in manufacture and materials on all mechanical security products, and a full 12 months guarantee on all electronic security products. The new Lock is also available in Carl Kammerling’s Winter Wonderland promotion.
