Independent builders merchant Deepings Building and Plumbing Supplies has taken on the CounterAct business system from Border Merchant Systems.

Deepings goes live on CounterAct

Based in Market Deeping in Peterborough,Deepingsalso has a renewable energy product division called Eco Building Products which stocks a huge range of renewable products, eco products and energy saving solutions.

Deepings has undergone huge growth in the last 12 months and as such, had reached the limits of its existing software system.

The company also took the opportunity to revamp its price book and review its stock situation. Once the server was installed, training began in earnest.

Training was broken down into manageable chunks so no one was overloaded with information. Training took place at Deepings premises and used their own system data to make it as relevant for the staff as possible.

Deepings also took advantage of the CounterAct option to store signed proof of delivery and collection tickets on the system which can easily be retrieved and sent to customers as a PDF should they require a POD. Deepings have also started to email invoices and statement to customers saving both time and postage costs.

Deepings accountant Darren Broom said: “It was hard work to get everything done that was necessary to be live on time but both companies worked together to achieve the required result.

“We went live on time and have since gone from strength to strength – now we are over the initial setup phase we are reaping the benefits in terms of increased efficiency, better controls, improved stock and margin levels and an even better service levels for our customers.”
