Selco Builders Warehouse has officially launched its new branch in Isleworth, the builders merchant’s 35th in the UK, creating more than 50 jobs in the process.

The ribbon was cut on Selco’s newest store on Monday 1st September, with PDC darts player Mark Webster the special guest and he took to the oche against staff, customers and members of the public in a series of special darts challenges.

The Isleworth branch on Worton Road, is Selco’s 19th in London and continues the expansion of the company in the capital since it opened its first branch in Walthamstow in 2002.

Chris Cunliffe, chief executive officer for Selco Builders Warehouse, said: “We had a fantastic launch day and we are delighted and proud to have opened another branch in London.

“One of the major advantages of opening a new branch is the boost it provides to the local economy and that is certainly the case with Isleworth where 50 jobs have been created for people living in the area and its vicinity.

“Our commitment to providing greater access to our huge range of competitively priced products that are readily available for customers to purchase will be as strong as ever.”

Selco, owned by builders merchanting group Grafton, presented a cheque of £20,000 to its nominated charity Macmillan Cancer Support, as part of the day’s celebration.

Selco has donated £100,000 to the charity since the end of 2012 and has pledged to raise a further £50,000 this year.
