Curzon join CO awareness alliance

Curzon, the spares sister company of Graham and Jewson, have joined the Carbon Monoxide Consumer Awareness Alliance (COCAA) in their own right.

Curzon have teamed up with the COCAA to promote awareness of the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning and of the work of the COCAA to highlight them.

Set up in 2007 as a direct response to the All Party Parliamentary Gas Safety Group, COCAA has generated significant awareness throughout the UK, with the launch of a high profile campaign entitled ‘Carbon Monoxide – Be Alarmed’ in 2008. Members include representatives from energy suppliers through to carbon monoxide alarm manufacturers, trade associations ¬- including the BMF -, charities and victim support groups.

In the UK alone around 30 people have died and a further 177 have suffered injuries from carbon monoxide related incidents over the last 12 months. COCAA aims to raise the profile of carbon monoxide, by focusing on the dangers as well as the simple steps for safety and prevention, the symptoms and where to seek help and advice.
