Culligan International (UK) Limited have developed the Waterside MC Ultra S Range of water softners to meet the standards of BS EN 14743.
The revision of BS EN 14743 in June 2007, relating specifically to the testing of water softeners has bought about a number of changes including that any product that wastes less than 4% water per regeneration can be considered an energy saving device. Waterside MC Ultra S Range falls within this range.
Keeping with the theme of efficiency, Culligan are aware that factors such as salt usage over a products lifespan should be entered into the cost cycle equation of a water softener, as should energy consumption. As a result of this Culligan is working to ensure greater long-term product efficiency across the product range.
Peter Marsh, Household General Manager highlighted that, “In addition to following BS EN 14743, we are also driving to get our water softeners recognised as energy saving devices with the same rating system commonly recognised from other domestic appliances such as fridges and washing machines. This way customers are again provided with clear and concise information that allows them to make an informed purchase”.
