County adds another branch in Cheltenham

Independent builders merchant County Building Supplies opened a new branch in Cheltenham yesterday (Monday November 30).

The new site will specialise in heavy building materials and plumbing and heating supplies and be a ‘collect’ branch for customers.

Director Martyn Rees says the location of the branch will be a real benefit for trades customers in Cheltenham, for whom travel across the town is getting increasingly difficult with traffic levels.

“It’s opposite Howdens so it is already somewhere that tradespeople are already going and it is 400 yards away from the best French bakery in Cheltenham, which means we are going to be highly visible to the hundreds of people who come and queues up for their croissants,” he says.

Due to business growth, County Building Supplies has already taken on 12 new members of staff this year and has created further opportunities for local people with the opening of the new branch.

He says: “The expansion of our business is something we are really proud of; not only are we opening yet another branch, but we have been in the fantastic position of needing to take on more staff during the pandemic. We’re branching out with our offering and exploring the Electric Vehicle (EV) market at the moment, we’ve already created partnerships with local sports clubs in Cheltenham to provide the charging points. We are also going to be supplying bacteria reducing fogging machines in the near future.

“As ever, we will continue to do our upmost to live up to County Building Supplies’ motto to be ‘the happiest builder’s merchants in the world.”
