Cortexa launches e-learning training package for boiler scheme.

Heating manufacturers Baxi, Ideal, Alpha, Vaillant and Viessmann have all signed up to the package which is designed to help train builders merchant frontline staff on key aspects of the boiler scrappage scheme.

Paul Kelly, marketing director at Cortexa said: “The Boiler Scrappage Scheme was designed to support the independent installer and plumber – the merchant channel is an essential component in that supply chain. Our training package will provide a one stop solution for merchant staff to talk confidently about the opportunity available, detail of the process and build on their reputation as a trusted advisor.”

The Boiler Scrappage Scheme module is the first of a new series of topical training pieces (branded ‘Cortexa Connect’) which will focus on hot regulatory, market or customer issues. Other planned topics include Part G, Solar technology and Environmental materials.

The module is being provided, free of charge, through Cortexa’s online training academy network to a number of merchant groups including PTS and Plumbase as well as independent merchants through the NMBS online training academy.

PTS managing director Kelvin Stevens, said: “I strongly believe our staff can help customers get the best out of the Boiler Scrappage Scheme and our online training Academy is the ideal way to get key messages to them quickly and consistently.”

The module is approximately twenty minutes long and covers core topics such as how the scheme works, where to get information, how to qualify correct products for replacement as well as being a handy tool for looking up eligible boilers.
