Leading stair parts manufacturer Cheshire Mouldings have announced the opening of a new multi-million pound distribution centre, dedicated purely to their core independent and national merchant customers.

The Abbotsfield estate, which covers 81,000 square feet and is based in St Helens further emphasises the company’s position as the go-to manufacturer of stair parts, decking, mouldings and joinery products for independent merchants.

The new site features a brand new barcode picking system and state of the art racking and picking operation, and is home to four new additional delivery vehicles, all of which help the business provide the best possible service to it’s customers.

The opening comes after Cheshire Mouldings has seen growth quadruple over the last three years in its core merchant’s business, which is the result of continued support from the independents.

Managing director, John Carney said: “Our core independents have been the backbone of our business for the last 27 years, and they continue to be integral to our growth which is why we have chosen to make such a significant investment.

“We pride ourselves on offering the highest levels of service to all of our customers and the opening of Abbotsfield is an important step in ensuring we are equipped to continue supporting our core independents.

“As well as the investment in the site, we have a focused strategy for our merchants over the next two years to drive product sales. In the immediate future we also have a number of initiatives and promotions planned in the next couple of months and we look forward to continuing to work with all of our customers in this exciting growth period.”
