Charity begins at Roman

UK shower manufacturer Roman, have raised more than £4,000 for charity during the past 12 months.

Charity begins at Roman

Beneficiaries of the funds raised by the company included local charities St Teresa’s Hospice in Darlington and the Samaritans in Darlington and Daventry.

Money was raised at a series of events throughout 2007, such as fun days, by staff at both the company headquarters and the distribution centre in Daventry.

Roman managing director David Osborne said, “We are delighted to support these charities. We chose them because they are excellent local resources. They offer great support to people in our area who need it at certain times in their lives.”

And, he says, plans don’t stop there as the company is already planning ways to top the figure in 2008: “This year we are planning a sponsored walk of 84 miles along Hadrian’s Wall over the Easter weekend. This will involve up to 20 employees, their families and friends. Another event we are organising is an indoor five-a-side football tournament at a Recreation Centre. We are hoping that 50 footballers will take part.”
