Chandlers reaches 25% of charity target

Sussex independent builders merchant Chandlers Building Supplies is already a quarter of the way to its fundraising target for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust charity.
The Chandlers £50k Challenge launched at the beginning of 2013 and aims to raise £50,000 for the charity in honour of employee Rob Sadler, a Cystic Fibrosis Sufferer himself. Sadler is celebrating 30 years of Chandlers’ employment this year, but more significantly, turns 50 in December; those with Cystic Fibrosis are not expected to live beyond their 30s.

Chandlers’ staff, customers and their branches local communities have all supported the campaign and have taken part in many fundraising events from sponsored runs, football matches and charity golf days to barn dances, silent auctions and cricket matches.

Chandlers commercial director Richard Skinner said: “A big thank you to everyone who has made a contribution to any of the fundraising activities that have taken place so far. Although we are focusing on raising money with our colleague Rob in mind, Cystic Fibrosis is a condition that affects the lives of families across the country, so any money raised goes to a great cause.”
