Chandlers launches new graduate training scheme

Chandlers Building Supplies have announced the launch of their new Graduate Management Training Programme, giving young people a chance to develop a career in the builders merchants industry.
The two year programme gives graduates the chance to get to know the sector, including working in a variety of roles and departments interspersed with tailored training workshops delivered by the Builders Merchants Federation.

During the first year, graduated will gain experience in a range of roles including sales, transport and operations at the Chandlers’ head office in Ringmer. The second year will see them develop their skills and experience working alongside colleagues in one of the companies Sussex branches.

The aim of the programme is to give graduates a strong position to apply for supervisory roles within the business before progressing to management positions in the future.

Managing director of Chandlers Building Supplies, Andrew Cope said: “Graduate training schemes offer young people a fantastic opportunity to immerse themselves in a particular industry. This will be our first Graduate Management Training Programme and we look forward to welcoming the successful candidates into the business.

“I’m sure many young people will not have considered looking at career options within the builders merchant industry, however, for an individual with drive and determination there is plenty of opportunity to establish a very varied, fulfilling and successful career.”

Closing date for applications is July 31, with a start date in September. For more information visit www.chandlersbs.co.uk/graduate-scheme
