A team from the Sussex independent builders merchant took on West Chiltington Cricket Club.

The Chandlers invitational XI were just beaten by the West Chiltington score.

The money will go towards The Chandlers £50k Challenge, which aims to raise £50,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust in honour of Chandlers’ employee Rob Sadler, a Cystic Fibrosis sufferer himself.

Sadler will be having a double celebration during 2013, marking not only 30 years of Chandlers’ employment, but more significantly his 50th birthday; those with Cystic Fibrosis are not expected to live beyond their 30s.

Richard Skinner, commercial director at Chandlers and a member of the Chandlers team, said: “Thanks have to go to West Chiltington for hosting us and donating the proceeds from the barbeque to our campaign, and to everyone who came along to support the event and help us to raise money for the Chandler £50k Challenge.”

As well at other fundraising activities, Chandlers is organising a charity golf day which is taking place at Slinfold Golf & Country Club on 27 September. Anyone interested in playing should email: 50kappeal@chandlersbs.co.uk.
