The Construction Industry Helpline, a 24/7 confidential helpline for the industry’s workforce and their families, was selected by the family-owned builders merchants following its month long appeal to find a charity partner for the next financial year.
Sue McKinney of Chandlers Buildings Supplies said: “We had many, many worthy charities applying for the partnership opportunity however, following much consideration, we chose to support the Construction Industry Helpline, provided by the Lighthouse Construction Industry charity. This is a wonderful and much needed service totally dedicated to the sector in which we operate, the construction industry. “
The charity has 21 volunteer-led regional clubs throughout the UK and Ireland and has been delivering its support to the construction industry since 1956. The helpline is the gateway to the services it provides for the construction workforce. The aim is to get every construction worker to carry a Construction Industry Helpline card so they know where to turn to in times of need.
