Cemco add two new merchants

Cemco, the independent merchant buying group, has added two more builders merchants to the group.
The new businesses are T Patton Ltd of east London and Leekes Ltd a £55m turnover company based in South Wales and the South West operating out of 5 trading outlets.

A lightside business, T Patton currently trades out of a single site, though they plan to open a second branch in Harlow, Essex.

Owner Tom Patton said: “We have chosen to join Cemco because of their specialist knowledge and competitive deals in lightside. As an independent, gaining competitive deals is important, especially during the current economic climate, and becoming a member of Cemco we will be provided with the leverage needed to contend with the larger national groups providing us with better buying power making our Company a competitive force”.

Cemco commercial director Mike Hillier said: “Cemco will ensure that Leekes are able to strengthen and improve the trade area of their business, whilst Leekes expertise in Showrooms and importation will prove invaluable as Cemco look to develop other opportunities for its membership. This is a genuine win/win for all concerned and Cemco were delighted that Leekes selected Cemco ahead of other industry buying groups”.

He continued: “Cemco will continue to seek out independent merchants that will add value to the membership structure. We believe that our development strategy is clear and extremely focused.
