Builders merchants across the UK are throwing themselves behind the Get Britain Building Campaign, encouraging their suppliers and customers to back the campaign and promoting it wherever they can.
In Liverpool, Beers Building Supplies have added the campaign logo to all of their advertising and promotional material, including their latest, Spring Offers, leaflet.
Further north at Builders Supplies (West Coast), managing director Peter Worthington has added the logo to his standard advert.
At Frank Key in Nottingham, managing director Robert Sansom decided to go one better as the local MP’s office is just opposite the company’s headquarters. A crane lorry stands at the entrance with a 6ft Get Britain Building banner hanging from it.
Merchants or suppliers wanting to show their support can do a number of things including writing to their MPs and use the banners and car and van stickers available. Details are available on the bmf website, www.bmf.org.uk
The Get Britain Building Campaign is organised by the BMF, FMB, British Precast and Modern Masonry Alliance and supported by dozens of trade associations. It’s aim is to persuade government to adopt a series of measures to kick-start the construction industry again and save hundreds of thousands of jobs from being lost.
