Builders merchant nets kit for local team

A builders’ merchant based in Market Deeping near Peterborough is increasing its sponsorship of a successful local netball club, despite being less than a year old.

Builders merchant nets kit for local team

The Deepings Trading Company – which officially opened on the Spitfire Park industrial estate, Northfield Road in March – has already supplied new kit for the under-16 and under-14 teams of Blaze Netball. Now it is sponsoring kit for the club’s new under-12 team as well.

Deepings Trading operations director Ian Greenfield said: “Blaze is a very successful club. We felt that the most appropriate way to mirror our success was to align ourselves with an organisation that is enjoying similar success while at the same time putting something back into the community.”

The nine-girl squad is currently competing at U14 level. Because the Blaze U14 and U16 teams have been so successful in the Peterborough Local League – qualifying for the Cambridgeshire County League – the club was offered an additional place in the county league at U14 level to replace a team that had dropped out.

Coach Alison Mumby said: “We are delighted that The Deepings Trading Company agreed to supply our kit as part of its sponsorship. Ian has already purchased top of the range Kukri kit for both our under-16 teams and our under-14 team. Now he has very generously done the same for our under-12 team as well. The girls are very excited about starting the new season in new kit and I would like to thank Deepings Trading for their sponsorship of Blaze Netball Club.”
