A builders merchant from Devon had lunch with HM The Queen as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

Sylvain Bordas, manager at independent builders merchant Palladium Building Supplies in Kingsbridge, Devon was invited by the Worshipful Company of Builders Merchantsto Westminster Hall in London because of the standard he attained in the training he received.

Bordas was thrilled to be able to attend the luncheon, being seated a few tables from Her Majesty.

He said: “It was a day I will never forget, an incredible experience and an honour to be part of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations.”

He undertook training through the Builders Merchant Federation, obtaining five distinctions which made him the leading nationwide trainee, receiving his prize at a presentation in Birmingham.
