Carl Oates, managing director of independent builders merchant MBS Site Supplies, spoke live to ITV’s Good Morning Britain today (8th July) discussing the possible impact of the Summer Budget on Warrington.
The builders merchant recently opened a new branch in Warrington, becoming the company’s second site since launching in 2014.
According to the report, the town was recently ranked 5th highest in terms of economic growth and has the 4th highest jobs growth in the UK.
However, concerns remain in the region with 1 in 4 children living in poverty and more than a quarter of adults claim working tax credits.
Speaking alongside Cllr Judith Guthrie, Oates gave a positive outlook for his business.
“It’s difficult to talk negatively as things are going so well,” he told ITV’s Richard Gaisford. “Logistically we’re well placed in Warrington to serve Liverpool and Manchester, the government has introduced a number of initiatives to support us as a small business so the outlook for us is rather bright to be honest.”
