Builders and timber merchant group gets new funding

Herefordshire-based Pontrilas Group has secured an £8.3 million refinancing package for its two trading arms, Pontrilas Timber and Builders Merchants and Pontrilas Group Packaging Limited.

The money is coming from Lloyds TSB and will enable the company to develop new markets and continue to invest.

Established in 1947, Pontrilas Group, a third generation family-run business turns over £26m a year, selling timber and timber products to the construction, manufacturing, distribution and renovation sectors.

Pontrilas Timber and Builders Merchants operate from a 24-acre site in Pontrilas, near Hereford, and distribute timber beams, fencing and decking.

Pontrilas Group Packaging Limited, based in Llanelli, Wales, manufacture timber-based packing products.
