Buildbase win large business award

Buildbase, the UK builders merchants arm of the Grafton Group, have won a prestigious business award in their home town of Oxford, just prior to opening their 150th branch.

The Oxford Business Awards are voted on by 500 members of the local business community and Buildbase was on a short list of three for their impressive performance last year.

Buildbase chief executive Kevin Middleton said he was proud to accept the award on behalf of all the company’s employees.

“Our first branch was in Oxford when we began trading 12 years ago and we have our head offices here. Now we are truly a national builders merchant with a network of branches across the UK. We are very honoured to be recognised by local business people for our trading record and also our involvement in the local community,” he said.

Buildbase’s 150th branch will open in Radstock near Bath on Monday. Previous branch openings include Exeter in April and Bow, east London on May 6.
