Build Center goes pink for Breast Cancer Care

Builders’ merchant Build Center is selling bright pink wheelbarrows across its branches in Sussex and Surrey to raise money for the Breast Cancer Care charity.

Build Center will donate £5 from each sale to the charity in the hope of raising £500 by the end of October 2011.

Regional trading manager, Graeme Bennison, said: “Almost 48,000 women and 300 men are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK, which makes it the most commonly diagnosed form of cancer in the UK.

“So many peoples’ lives are affected by this disease, which is why we decided to donate £5 from the sale of each pink barrow to Breast Cancer Care.

“You hear of fundraising through pink walks, coffee mornings and other pink events, so we thought we’d find our own Build Center way of raising money for this great cause.”

The wheelbarrows retail at £47+VAT and can be purchased from Build Centers across the region.

Branches taking part in the fundraiser are: Redhill, Hove, Croyden, Leatherhead, Haywards Heath, Ruislip, Littlehampton, Egham, Walton-on-Thames, Horsham, East Grinstead, Hinchley Wood, Burgess Hill, Epsom, High Wycombe, Coulsdon, Brighton (Kemp Town) and Crawley.
