Builders Merchants Journal – BMJ Publishing to Builders Merchants and the UK merchanting industry for more than 95 years
Industrial and commercial plumbing and heating merchants BSS Industrial have opened their first branch in partnership with sister company Buck & Hickman.
The branch, on Barbers Road, Stratford, east London, is next door to the 2012 Olympic site and has been opened with the main purpose of serving contractors working at Olympic Park. It is the first new trade counter that both BSS Industrial and Buck & Hickman, the BSS Group’s specialist tools, maintenance and health and safety supplier, have opened for several years.
The branch will compliment the service offered by the Group’s domestic division merchant, PTS located nearby and will work closely with three other local BSS and Buck & Hickman branches based in Romford, Dagenham and Docklands to ensure that stock levels are maintained.
Frank Elkins, BSS Industrial managing director, said: “The Olympics presents an enormous opportunity for all those involved in the UK construction industry and we have been lucky enough to open our new branch in a prime location in Stratford. The branch will have access to all of our stock, nationwide, on a next-day service.”
