Brick association supports CRASH

The Brick Development Association (BDA) continues to support CRASH, the construction industries industry’s charity for homeless people.
Through its annual Brick Awards, the BDA has raised over £10,000 for the charity and in 2009 alone, nearly £4000 went to help the Eastbourne Day Centre, a CRASH supported project.

CRASH is a practical charity that focuses on improving the buildings used by homeless people, by awarding cash grants, providing on-site professional expertise and by supplying free building materials.

The Salvation Army uses the Eastbourne Day Centre to provide a warm place for rough sleepers and approached CRASH for assistance with renovating its building and providing additional facilities. Through the help of the Brick Development Association, CRASH was able to provide a cash grant to complete the project.

“CRASH is a unique industry charity,” says Katherina Lewis, marketing manager. “Through the generosity of our members and guests at our annual Brick Awards, we have been able to raise a significant amount of money and we are pleased to be supporting CRASH again at this year’s Brick Awards”.
