Breedon Aggregates buys Nottingham Readymix

Independent aggregates business Breedon Aggregates has bought Nottingham Readymix.

The acquisition improves Breedon Aggregates’ coverage of the East Midlands, being located midway between its plants at Cloud Hill to the south-west and Grantham to the east.

Simon Vivian, Breedon Aggregates’ group chief executive, said: “This is a great business with deep roots in the Nottinghamshire community and we are proud to welcome it as the newest member of the Breedon Aggregates group.

“Nottingham Readymix and its senior management team will continue to run the business day-to-day, providing the same level of excellent service.”

In the longer term, Nottingham Readymix will form Breedon Aggregates’ Nottinghamshire hub, from which the company intends to develop its ready-mixed concrete operations over the next few years. The team there will work closely with Breedon Aggregates’ quarry at Cloud Hill near Breedon-on-the-Hill, which will supply it with crushed rock.
