Brand new business for JT Dove

Newcastle-based merchant chain JT Dove launched a brand new division this month, devoted to helping reduce carbon emissions in the region.
Called JTD Systems, the new arm will specialise in the provision of insulation materials, dry lining, fire protection and acoustics to both the public and installation companies.

The initiative is headed up jointly by Colin Campbell and Marc Poppleton. Mr Campbell said: “JT Dove have served the north east for over 100 years and in the last few years, there has been a definite upturn in the requests for insulation materials. With the government directive focussing on ensuring that as a country we reduce our carbon emissions it seemed sensible for us to expand and develop a company that could offer the right assistance at the right price.

“Our depot is central to the whole region, and we will deliver too. The 15,000 square foot warehouse means that the company can keep large amounts of stock, offering competitive prices, and immediate delivery or collection.”

The move represents an investment of neatly £300,000 for the merchant and initially creates 10 new jobs. And, said Mr Campbell, is already performing strongly with several large contracts already secured since the division commenced trading.

“We have only just opened and already we are experiencing a high demand for our products which just goes to show what a hole in the market there really was,” he said. “Keeping in line with the JT Dove philosophy, JTD Systems will only offer the best quality, at the most reasonable prices – people have caught onto that early, and it seems we already have the startings of a strong core customer base.”
