David bravely volunteered to lose his lovely locks to kick start the builders’ merchants pledge to raise over £200,000 for Macmillan in 2 years.

The shave was carried out by a couple willing volunteers in his daughters Emily and Mollie.

David commented, ‘Bradfords are delighted to have Macmillan as our nominated charity of the year, it’s a charity that provides an invaluable service to its patients and their families. We have set ourselves the ambitious target of raising £200k in two years and I wanted to personally get involved and give our company wide fundraising a kick start. I would like to thank all the customers, staff and suppliers that have sponsored me to date.’

Genevieve Drinkwater, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support commented “It was fantastic to see the Managing Director of Bradfords leading the way at the launch of their charity partnership with us! It was great fun to watch his daughter’s shave his head and a donation from the youngest one at the end was very touching. The whole company have embraced the start of their fundraising and I’m excited to see what the next two years bring. Thank you Bradfords for pledging to change the lives of people affected by cancer”.
