Bradford branch gets a facelift

After 20 years supplying the local building trade, staff at Bradford Building Supplies’ branch in Verwood, near Bournemouth, decided that a thorough refurbishment was necessary.
The renovation work has been ongoing throughout 2007 and has included switching the location of the warehouse and counter. The new sales counter is now located at the front of the premises, next to fully re-stocked merchandise concessions, with the warehouse tucked away at the rear of the store.

Verwood’s branch manager, Paul Webster, explained the changes were customer-motivated. “We needed to make the branch more user-friendly, and customer feedback was key to the renovation,” he said. “We’re already seeing the benefits. We’ve been able to increase our stock range by 1000 lines, and collect figures have increased significantly.”

Despite major changes to the layout, the branch has remained operational for the entire period, and sales targets have largely been met despite a heavy strain on resources.

“The branch’s continued success is thanks to a fantastic staff effort,” Webster commented. “Both store-based and field sales personnel have really worked hard to keep everything running smoothly.”

An event re-launching the branch will be held in spring 2008.
