Five youngsters in the builders merchant industry walked away with prizes from the BMJ BMF Young Achiever Awards 2017 last night (September 20).
The awards formed part of the BMF Awards night, the conclusion to the Builders Merchans Federation annual Members’ Day conference held at the Hinckley Island Hotel.
The winner of the Youg Merchant Achiever Award was LBS’s Greg Ace, who won a cheque for £2,000 and a trophy, as well as, from sponsor SCA Timber, a magnificent trophy and a trip to Sweden. The runner-up, who won a trophy and an iPad from award sponsor Bostik, was City Plumbing Supplies’ Katy Monk. In the highly commended spot was Travis Perkins’ Kyle Lievers.
The winner of the Young Suppplier Achiever Award, sponsored by GFK, was Amy Sellers from SCA Timber. Runner-up was Digby Stone’s Reiss Digby.
“The standard was immensely high again this year, which bodes extremely well for the future of our industry,” said BMJ Editor-in-Chief Fiona Russell-Horne. “The judges had a very tough time deciding how to whittle down the entrants to this award. The same can also be said for the Young Supplier Achiever Award and, for the first time, we awarded a highly commended in this category as it was clear the quality of the candidates was so high.”
The BMJ BMF Young Achiever Awards are open to anyone working in BMF Merchant or Supplier Member co
mpanies who are under the age of 35.
