BMJ Industry Awards 2020: Enter by FRIDAY January 24

I can only control my own performance.
If I do my best, then I can feel good at the end of the day.

What takes hardly any time at all, leaves you with a feeling of quiet satisfaction and could make either you or someone else very happy indeed?

Of course I’m talking about entering this year’s BMJ Industry Awards. Why, what did you think I meant? Lots of you have already entered or nominated someone else for these awards, now in their third year. So that’s good. However, we have to draw the line at entries sometime and that time is this Friday.

BMJ Industry Awards 2020 Landscape

That’s right you have just three days to get your entry in to be in with a chance of winning one of our tasteful crystal trophies but, more importantly, basking in the admiration and adulation of your peers.

Simpy entering doesn’t guarantee you the win, of course, we have a strict, secure online voting portal for that but, as the Lottery advert goes you’ve got to be in it to win it.

If you don’t do it by the end of this week, then you’ll be too late and you run the risk of seeing one of your competitors walking away with “your” prize on Friday May 15th.

Enter here. Enter now.

This awards isn’t about who can write the best awards submission for a panel of judges. This is about getting peers, suppliers, customers and colleagues – the people who know this business the best – to vote for the best in each category. The nomination process is as easy as we can make it. If you are, or you know of, a fantastic merchant that you would like to see rightly lauded, then get onto our website and get nominating. Do you have a particular favourite amongst the national merchants? Then nominate them now. Who has a fantastic bathroom and kitchen showroom that lifts their business above the rest? If it’s you then get your name down now. If one of your merchant customers is a bit shy about blowing their own trumpet then give them a shove and nominate them yourself.

Have you seen a rock-solid marketing campaign from a merchant that you think deserves greater credit from the industry? We have a Marketing Campaign category that’s perfect for it.

Because an industry has no future without fresh blood coming through, we have two Rising Star awards for those who are headed for greater things. One from a national merchant and one from the independent sector, because what you have to do to shine in a big, national merchant group is different to what you might do as part of a smaller, independent business.  Different, and equally valuable. We also have an Apprentice/Trainee of the Year Awards because we want to recognise the talent that’s just bubbling under, or that has only just joined the industry. The winners and nominees for this award will no doubt go on to be the entrants for the Rising Star and Achiever of the Year awards in future years.

We hear a lot in this industry about the importance of branding which is why we have a whole category dedicated to the best brands the market can offer. Who do you believe has the best brand for heavyside, insulation, plumbing and heating, timber, landscaping, bathrooms, roofing, or distribution? Get the nominations in now.

This industry is all about people so our Industry Personality of the Year will be the person you think has done the most for the industry, says the most about our industry or is just an all-round jolly-good egg.

The rather clever online portal runs on an algorithm that ensures it’s all above-board, so no-one can vote a hundred times for themselves. It’s so tightly controlled that once again, I won’t be allowed access to the end results until we do the run-through on the morning of the awards lunch. Apparently this is in case I can’t keep a secret.

In any case, if you aren’t doing anything else that day and you want to get in some serious networking with the great and the good and even the rest of us, then get on the website and book yourself a table (here!!). Bring your friends. Come and have fun on Friday May 15th at the Brewery, Chiswell Street, London.
