BMF launch new sustainable products training module

Sustainable product training for builders merchants took a step forward yesterday with the launch of the Builders Merchants Federation’s new Sustainable Building Products module.
Run by MOL, the module forms part of the City & Guilds qualification in Construction Materials Distribution.

The module is divided into sections from background to the Environment and Climate Change to bricks and blocks and insulation, heating, kitchens, renewable technologies, hard landscaping and foundations.

BMF board director Andy Williamson, launching the module at the BMF Members day yesterday, said that this was another of the ways that the BMF was helping members to find their way round the new sustainable market.

“We want to help members understand the issues,” he said. “Every new product now is touted as ‘green’ in some way. We want to help members understand whether it really is sustainable or whether it’s just being marketed as such.”
