BMF conference raises cash for Rainy Day Trust

Delegates at the BMF Autumn Conference in York responded to an impromptu call from conference chairman Peter Worthington in support of the Rainy Day Trust. The collection contributed £176.06 to the charity.

RDT trustees were delighted with the donation, said Trust president Colin Petty. “Like many charities, the Rainy Day Trust has experienced a drop in income over the past couple of years, and it’s been a real struggle to maintain the level of support for our beneficiaries. We’re hugely grateful to the delegates at the BMF conference for their generosity.”

Founded in 1843, the Rainy Day Trust is a benevolent fund which provides annual grants and one-off assistance for people who have spent a significant part of their working lives in the hardware, ironmongery and diy industry, and who now find they need a helping hand.
